It’s my mission to seek out and destroy errors and help improve the whole reading and writing experience for everyone.
Whenever I read a book, be it conventionally published or otherwise, my eagle eyes home in on mistakes and I cringe regularly at the typos and bad punctuation, and groan loudly at poor editing and formatting seen in an ever-increasing number of these books. This is, I’m sad to say, prevalent in increasing numbers in books that are self-published and I cannot understand why, when a writer is often paying out vast sums of money to have their book “published” by printers, they fail to see the need to have their work checked professionally. It needn’t be an expensive exercise and a book well presented in every aspect reaps its rewards. Too often one gets a bad review due to the lack of basic editing and poor spelling. And poor reviews hurt.
